QCVN 101:2016/MIC was compiled by the Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications (RIPT), evaluated and approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), and issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) in Circular No. 07/2016/MIC dated March 17th, 2016.
It came into effect on October 1st, 2016, and expired on July 1st, 2021 to be amended to QCVN 101:2020/MIC, and is currently applied since then.
1.1. Scope
This regulation specifies the minimum technical requirements for Lithium batteries used in handheld devices, including batteries for mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and similar devices.
1.2. Applicability
This regulation applies to organizations and individuals engaged in the production and trade of devices covered by the scope of this regulation within the territory of Vietnam.
1.3. Normative references
QCVN 101:2016/MIC is developed based on international standards (IS):
– IEC 61960:2011 – “Secondary cells and batteries containing alkaline or other non-acid electrolytes – Secondary lithium cells and batteries for portable applications”, và
– IEC 62133:2012 – “Secondary cells and batteries containing alkaline or other non-acid electrolytes – Safety requirements for portable sealed secondary cells, and for batteries made from them, for use in portable applications”.
