Along with the popularity of smartphones and personal digital devices, wireless audio equipment such as Bluetooth headphones, portable speakers, or home audio systems are becoming a familiar part of daily life. These devices operate based on radio transmission technology, transmitting and receiving electromagnetic signals in the surrounding space. EMC Testing for Wireless Audio Devices in Vietnam according to QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT is a mandatory requirement to ensure the equipment operates stably and does not cause harmful interference to other radio communication systems.

I. The situation of wireless audio device usage in Vietnam
The wireless audio device market in Vietnam is growing rapidly. Wireless headphones, portable Bluetooth speakers, and home wireless audio systems are increasingly used widely, from work and study environments to personal entertainment and family activities. The use of these devices occurs continuously and with high density, especially in large urban areas.
Along with the increase in quantity, the electromagnetic environment around users has also become more complex. A small space can simultaneously contain many wireless audio devices, Wi-Fi network equipment, smart devices, and other radio systems. If audio devices are not well-controlled, there is a risk of mutual interference or affecting the operational quality of surrounding equipment.
Accordingly, performing EMC Testing for Wireless Audio Devices in Vietnam according to QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT is an important mandatory requirement to evaluate the conformity of wireless audio devices before they are brought to market. Testing is not only intended to meet state management requirements but also contributes to ensuring that devices operate stably in real-world environments where multiple radio systems coexist.

2. Technical requirements
QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT stipulates the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for wireless audio devices with an operating frequency range of 25 MHz to 2,000 MHz, including regulations on emission and immunity.
(1) Emission
Apply Table 1, Section 2.1.1 of QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT, including the applicability of EMC emission measurements for relevant ports of radio equipment and/or ancillary equipment. Specific conditions are specified in Table 1 regarding the emission measurement methods used in Section 2.1 of QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT.
Table 1 – Specific conditions for EMC emission measurements
| Reference section of QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT | Specific conditions related to the equipment, supplementing or amending the measurement conditions specified in 2.1 of QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT |
|
2.1.2. Measurement configuration Measurement methods and limits for EMC emissions |
Radio equipment must operate on a frequency channel close to the center frequency of the switching range declared by the manufacturer.
When operating in transmission mode, the transmitter must operate at the maximum RF output power level. |
(2) Immunity
Apply Section 2.2 of QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT, including the applicability of EMC immunity measurements for relevant ports of radio equipment and/or ancillary equipment. Specific conditions are specified in Table 2 regarding the immunity measurement methods used in Section 2.2 of QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT.
Table 2 – Specific conditions for EMC immunity tests
| Reference section of QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT | Specific conditions related to the equipment, supplementing or amending the measurement conditions specified in 2.2 of QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT |
|
2.2.2. Test configuration |
For transmitter immunity tests, the transmitter must operate at its maximum RF output power level.
Immunity tests must be performed sequentially for all operating modes of the EUT. |

3. Testing costs and time
The cost and time for electromagnetic compatibility testing according to QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT for wireless audio equipment are publicly listed by Phuc Gia®. You can view the testing price list for electrical – electronic telecommunications and information technology equipment at the Testing – Certification Quotation or contact Phuc Gia® for detailed advice.
4. Where to conduct electromagnetic compatibility testing according to QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT for wireless audio equipment?
4.1. Regulations on qualified testing – certification units
Based on Article 5 of Consolidated Document 02/2020/VBHN-BTTTT – Regulations on certification of conformity and declaration of conformity for specialized information and communication technology products and goods, the testing units serving certification and declaration of conformity are regulated as follows:
The testing unit serving certification of conformity activities is a designated or recognized testing unit.
The testing unit serving declaration of conformity activities is a designated or recognized testing unit, or a unit that has registered testing activities according to Decree No. 107/2016/NĐ-CP dated July 01, 2016, of the Government regulating business conditions for conformity assessment services.
Testing units must be responsible to the Competent Authority for the accuracy of test results. Test results do not have the value of replacing the Certificate of Conformity and the Declaration of Conformity.
