On November 29, 2022, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) issued Circular No. 18/2022/MIC, accompanied by National Technical Regulation QCVN 130:2022/MIC on Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for cordless audio devices operating on the frequencies between 25 MHz and 2000 MHz.

I. SCOPE
Circular No. 18/2022/MIC (enclosing QCVN 130:2022/MIC) applies to Vietnamese and foreign organizations and individuals involved in the production and trading of devices governed by this regulation within the territory of Vietnam.

II. MAIN CONTENTS OF CIRCULAR NO. 18/2022/MIC
- Enclosed with this Circular is the National Technical Regulation on Electromagnetic Compatibility for Wireless Audio Devices in the Frequency Range of 25 MHz to 2000 MHz (QCVN 130:2022/MIC).
- The Chief of Office, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Heads of agencies and units under the Ministry of Information and Communications, Directors of Information and Communications Departments in provinces and centrally governed cities, and relevant organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Circular.
III. MAIN CONTENTS OF QCVN 130:2022/MIC

This regulation specifies electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for cordless audio devices operating in the frequency range of 25 MHz to 2000 MHz.

It defines EMC testing procedures, measurement methods, limits, and quality criteria for wireless audio devices. These devices may use either analog or digital modulation techniques.
(*) Notes:
- Bluetooth headphones operating in the frequency range of 2400 MHz to 2483.5 MHz are exempt from quality inspection and conformity certification (CR).

Products previously registered for conformity certification under QCVN 91:2015/MIC are not required to undergo recertification but must undergo additional testing per QCVN 130:2022/MIC. This ensures completion and updates to the self-assessment of conformity documentation for the product.
IV. DATE OF ISSUANCE
From July 1st, 2023, Circular 18/2022/MIC and the technical regulation QCVN 130:2022/MIC will take effect. Wireless/Cordless audio devices (falling under the scope of QCVN 91:2015/MIC) imported or produced in Vietnam must meet the requirements outlined in QCVN 91:2015/MIC and QCVN 130:2022/MIC.
