Decision 614/QĐ-BKHCN on the Promulgation of National Standards

Decision 614/QĐ-BKHCN announcing national standards was issued by the Minister of Science and Technology on April 10, 2024. This decision announces Vietnam Standards on energy efficiency for household appliances such as vacuum cleaners, electric ovens, range hoods, hot and cold water dispensers, and tumble dryers.

With the specific goals set in the National Program on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy for the 2019-2030 period, the list of standards required for energy labeling needs to be expanded to include appliances frequently used in many households, especially in urban areas, such as vacuum cleaners, ovens, range hoods, hot and cold water dispensers, and tumble dryers.

Accordingly, the following 05 corresponding National Standards (TCVN) are announced:

TCVN 13970:2024 on Energy Efficiency of Vacuum Cleaners
TCVN 13971:2024 on Energy Efficiency of Electric Ovens
TCVN 13972:2024 on Energy Efficiency of Electric Range Hoods
TCVN 13973:2024 on Energy Efficiency of Water Dispensers
TCVN 13974:2024 on Energy Efficiency of Clothes Tumble Dryers

Decision 614/QĐ-BKHCN takes effect from the date of signing (April 10, 2024) and requires the Director General of the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality and related organizations and individuals to be responsible for implementing this Decision.
