On March 18, 2013, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular 07/2013/TT-BTTTT regulating the timeline for integrating terrestrial Digital Television Reception functions for television sets manufactured and imported for use in Vietnam. This Circular applies to enterprises manufacturing and importing television sets for use in Vietnam and related organizations and individuals.

Circular 07/2013/TT-BTTTT stipulates the specific time for integrating terrestrial Digital Television Reception functions for television sets manufactured and imported for use in Vietnam. This document took effect from April 1, 2013.

Accordingly, television sets using LCD, PDP, LED, OLED screen technologies and subsequent screen technologies manufactured and imported for use in Vietnam must integrate terrestrial Digital Television Reception functions of the DVB-T2 standard and MPEG-4 video and audio signal coding standards in accordance with QCVN 63:2012/BTTTT according to specific timelines as follows:

From April 1, 2014, applied to all television sets with a screen size over 32 inches;
From April 1, 2015, applied to all television sets with a screen size of 32 inches or less.

Integration of terrestrial Digital Television Reception functions is not mandatory for television sets using CRT screen technology manufactured and imported for use in Vietnam.
