According to the regulations of the Ministry of Science and Technology, products classified as Portable general purpose luminaires under QCVN 19:2019/BKHCN must undergo procedures for Testing, Certification of Conformity, and/or Declaration of Conformity, and must be labeled with the conformity mark before being placed on the market.

Regulations regarding lamp classification, scope of application, or lamps excluded from the scope for Portable general purpose luminaires will be provided and clarified by Phuc Gia Testing Laboratory in the article below.

1. What are portable general purpose luminaires?

Luminaires which, in normal use, can be moved from one place to another while connected to the supply.

Note: Luminaires for wall mounting, having a supply cord for connection to a plug, and luminaires which can be fixed to their support by means of wing screws, clips, or hooks, so that they can easily be removed from the support by hand, are considered to be portable luminaires.

2. What is the scope of application for Portable general purpose luminaires under QCVN 19:2019/BKHCN?

This standard specifies requirements for portable general purpose luminaires, other than hand-held luminaires, for use with tungsten filament, tubular fluorescent, and other discharge lamps on supply voltages not exceeding 250 V.
