On November 29, 2022, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular No. 18/2022/TT-BTTTT along with the National Technical Regulation QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT on electromagnetic compatibility for wireless audio equipment in the frequency range from 25MHz to 2000 MHz.

I. SUBJECTS OF APPLICATION FOR CIRCULAR 18/2022/TT-BTTTT AND QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT
Circular 18/2022/TT-BTTTT (including QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT) applies to Vietnamese and foreign organizations and individuals engaged in manufacturing and trading equipment within the scope of this regulation in the territory of Vietnam.

II. MAIN CONTENT OF CIRCULAR NO. 18/2022/TT-BTTTT
- Issued together with this Circular is the National Technical Regulation on electromagnetic compatibility for wireless audio equipment in the frequency range 25 MHz to 2000 MHz (QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT).
- The Chief of Office, the Director General of the Department of Science and Technology, the Heads of agencies and units under the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Directors of the Departments of Information and Communications of provinces and centrally-run cities, and relevant organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Circular.
III. MAIN CONTENT OF QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT
- This regulation specifies the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for wireless audio equipment with an operating frequency range of 25 MHz to 2,000 MHz.
- This regulation specifies EMC measurements, measurement methods, limits, and performance criteria for wireless audio equipment. The equipment may use analog or digital modulation techniques.
(*) Note:
- Bluetooth headphones with an operating frequency range of 2400 MHz to 2483.5 MHz do not require quality inspection or conformity certification.
- For products previously registered for conformity certification according to QCVN 91:2015/BTTTT, re-certification is not required, but supplemental testing for QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT is necessary to complete and update the product’s self-assessment of conformity documentation.
IV. EFFECTIVENESS OF CIRCULAR 18/2022/TT-BTTTT AND QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT
From July 01, 2023, Circular No. 18/2022/TT-BTTTT and the QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT regulation will take effect; wireless audio devices (within the scope of QCVN 91:2015/BTTTT) imported or manufactured in Vietnam must meet the requirements specified in QCVN 91:2015/BTTTT and QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT.
