I. SCOPE OF APPLICATION
This standard specifies the minimum energy efficiency levels and methods for determining the energy efficiency of microwaves for household purposes, with a capacity up to and including 30L (This standard applies to both microwaves with grilling functions and combination microwaves).
II. CONTENT OF TCVN 13663:2023
TCVN 13663:2023 was announced based on the following documents:
- TCVN 10152 (IEC 62301), Household electrical appliances – Measurement of standby power;
- TCVN 12219:2018 (IEC 60705:2018), Household microwave ovens – Methods for measuring performance;
1. Energy efficiency requirements
Including energy efficiency requirements for standby mode and microwave mode, specifically as follows:
– Energy efficiency in standby mode: Determined according to TCVN 10152 (IEC 62301), in which the maximum power consumption of the microwave oven in standby mode must be less than or equal to 1 W.
– Energy efficiency in microwave mode: The energy efficiency of the microwave oven is determined according to the formula in 5.3 of this standard. The energy efficiency of this equipment consists of 5 levels, details as follows:
- Energy Efficiency (η) level 1: η < 45 %
- Energy Efficiency (η) level 2: 45 % < η ≤ 53 %
- Energy Efficiency (η) level 3: 53 % < η ≤ 58 %
- Energy Efficiency (η) level 4: 58 % < η ≤ 65 %
- Energy Efficiency (η) level 5: η > 65 % (The best level)
2. Testing conditions
- Apply Article 6 of TCVN 12219 (IEC 60705).
- In addition, the testing room temperature must be 23 °C ± 2 °C.
3. Determination method according to TCVN 13663:2023
The energy efficiency of the microwave oven is determined by indicators such as Microwave output power (P), Energy consumption (Win), and Heating time. To see the specific formula, please refer to section 5.3 in the attached file below.
4. Test Report
The test report must contain at least the following information:
- Microwave output power measured according to Article 8 of TCVN 12219 (IEC 60705);
- Type of equipment, available heating function(s);
- Whether a turntable or reciprocating tray is installed;
- Position of the load;
- Supply voltage at which the measurements were performed;
- Power consumption in Wh, rounded to one decimal place according to 14.6 of TCVN 12219 (IEC 60705) for each load;
- Final result for each cooking cycle, Wfinal, in Wh, rounded to one decimal place according to 14.7 of TCVN 12219 (IEC 60705).
