I. APPLICABLE SUBJECTS

Decision No. 724/QĐ-BTTTT, accompanied by the Set of Criteria for basic network information security requirements for surveillance cameras, is recommended for application to Vietnamese and foreign organizations and individuals involved in the research, development, production, assessment, selection, and use of camera equipment.

II. CONTENT OF DECISION NO. 724/QĐ-BTTTT: ISSUING THE FUNDAMENTAL CYBERSECURITY STANDARDS AND SECURITY CONTROLS FOR IP CAMERAS

The Decision was issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications along with the Set of Criteria for basic network information security requirements for surveillance cameras;
The Chief of Office, the Director General of the Authority of Information Security, Heads of units under the Ministry, and relevant organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision.

III. MAIN CONTENT OF THE SET OF CRITERIA

Decision No. 724/QĐ-BTTTT, along with the Set of Criteria, recommends the application of basic network information security technical requirements for surveillance camera equipment using network protocols (hereinafter referred to as camera equipment). For higher-level technical requirements, organizations and individuals shall consider and decide based on their specific characteristics and practical needs.
The Set of Criteria provides network information security requirements for surveillance cameras, including: Product instruction documentation; Authentication management; Vulnerability management; Update management and implementation; Secure session management; Communication channel management; Interface management; Ensuring user data information security; Application security; and the ability to self-recover to normal system status after an incident.

IV. EFFECTIVENESS

Decision No. 724/QĐ-BTTTT, accompanied by the Set of Criteria for basic network information security requirements for surveillance cameras, takes effect from the date of signing (May 7, 2024).
