I. CONCEPTS REGARDING DVB-T2 TELEVISIONS
What is DVB-T2?
Digital Television (DTV) is television technology that uses digital encoding, differing from the analog television technology widely used in Vietnam before the 2000s. Later, DTV technology was renamed DVB, also known as Digital Terrestrial Television.
- DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial) is the standard for Digital Terrestrial Television;
- DVB-T2 (Digital Video Broadcasting — Second Generation Terrestrial) is the second generation of the DVB standard; the first generation is called DVB-T.
What is iDTV (integrated Digital Television)?
It is a user terminal device with a display screen, an RF input connection port featuring a 75 Ohm impedance female jack interface, and a decoded service output routed to the device’s display screen.
What is a receiver?
A device that receives Digital Terrestrial Television signals broadcast according to the DVB-T2 standard. The receiver must include an RF tuner, a demodulator, a demultiplexer, and a decoder. The receiver can be a standalone device (STB) or a device integrated into a television set (iDTV). The receiver can also be a type that only supports SDTV (SDTV receiver) or one that simultaneously supports both SDTV and HDTV (HDTV receiver).
What is an HDTV receiver (HDTV level receiver)?
A receiver that supports the reception of both high-definition (HDTV) and standard-definition (SDTV) signals for display on a screen at their native resolution.
What is an SDTV receiver (SDTV level receiver)?
A receiver that only supports the reception of standard-definition (SDTV) signals for display on a screen at their native resolution, with no support for high-definition (HDTV).
