QCVN 25:2025/BKHCN stipulates that household socket adaptors with a rated current not exceeding 32 A must meet the technical requirements according to the following standards:

National Standard TCVN 6188-1:2007 (IEC 60884-1:2002) on Plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes – Part 1: General requirements;
National Standard TCVN 6188-2-5:2016 (IEC 60884-2-5:1995) on Plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes – Part 2-5: Particular requirements for adaptors.

Important Notes in Import, Manufacturing, and Business Policies

– Testing and certification must be performed by a testing and certification body that is designated, registered, or accredited by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

– Enterprises manufacturing or importing household socket adaptors with a rated current not exceeding 32 A, after obtaining regulation conformity certification, must register their Declaration of Conformity at the Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality where their business is registered before circulating products on the market.

– Certification according to Method 1: Testing of typical samples; the Certificate is valid for no more than 3 years. Typical samples are collected by the Certification Body (CB) or by the customer under the CB’s guidance and sent to the CB.

– It is necessary to accurately identify the HS code to determine the correct tax and avoid penalties as per the Legal Regulations for Socket Adaptors in Vietnam.

– Import tax is a mandatory obligation that must be fulfilled to the State.
