1. Scope of Application

Pursuant to QCVN 9:2012/BKHCN and Amendment 1:2018 QCVN 9:2012/BKHCN, electric hobs must undergo testing and conformity certification, bear the conformity mark (CR mark), and be subject to market inspection by quality control authorities in accordance with this regulation.

Accordingly, induction hobs must meet the technical requirements of TCVN 7492-1:2018 (replacing TCVN 7492-1:2010) regarding Electromagnetic Compatibility – Requirements for household appliances, electric tools, and similar apparatus. Section 1 (Scope of Application) of this standard specifies:

This standard specifies technical requirements for radio-frequency disturbance emissions in the frequency range of 9 kHz to 400 GHz from household appliances, electric tools, and similar electrical apparatus listed below, powered by AC or DC (including batteries/accumulators).

Therefore, all types of induction hobs (including induction hobs) – HS Code: 8516.60.90 – intended for household use must undergo testing, certification, and declaration of conformity according to QCVN 9:2012/BKHCN (while meeting the technical requirements of TCVN 7492-1:2018).

2. Technical Requirements

TCVN 7492-1:2018 (CISPR 14-1:2016) specifies the disturbance limits for induction hobs as follows:

  • Limits for radiated disturbance (9kHz-30MHz);
  • Limits for disturbance voltage at the mains terminals;
  • Limits for disturbance power (30-300MHz);
  • Limits for discontinuous interference (clicks).

Note: For appliances with multiple cooking zones, relevant measurements (e.g., clicks) are performed sequentially and separately on each cooking zone; this means only one cooking zone is operated during each individual measurement.
