1. Scope of Application
Air conditioning products, comprising a motor-driven fan and elements for changing the temperature and humidity, including those machines in which the humidity cannot be separately regulated, used for household and similar purposes (With a rated current not exceeding 25 A; excluding 3-phase power products):
- Window or wall types, self-contained (monoblock) or “split-system” (separate indoor and outdoor units), with a cooling capacity not exceeding 26.38 kW – HS Code: 8415.10.10;
- Air conditioners incorporating a refrigerating unit and a valve for reversal of the cooling/heat cycle (reversible heat pumps), with a cooling capacity not exceeding 21.10 kW – HS Code: 8415.81.93;
- Air conditioners incorporating a refrigerating unit, with a cooling capacity not exceeding 26.38 kW – HS Code: 8415.82.91;
- Air conditioners not incorporating a refrigerating unit, with a cooling capacity not exceeding 26.38 kW – HS Code: 8415.83.91.
Pursuant to QCVN 9:2012/BKHCN and Amendment 1:2018 QCVN 9:2012/BKHCN, air conditioners must undergo testing and conformity certification, bear the conformity mark (CR Mark), and be subject to market inspection by quality control authorities. Accordingly, air conditioners must meet the technical requirements of TCVN 7492-1:2018 (replacing TCVN 7492-1:2010) regarding Electromagnetic Compatibility.

2. Technical Requirements
TCVN 7492-1:2018 (CISPR 14-1:2016)specifies the technical testing requirements for each type of air conditioner as follows:
2.1. Single-Way (Cooling Only) Air Conditioners
- Limits for disturbance voltage at load terminals and additional terminals;
- Limits for disturbance voltage at the mains terminals;
- Limits for disturbance power (30 MHz – 300 MHz);
- Limits for discontinuous interference (clicks).
2.2. Two-Way (Heat Pump) Air Conditioners
- Limits for disturbance voltage at load terminals and additional terminals;
- Limits for disturbance voltage at the mains terminals;
- Limits for disturbance power (30 MHz – 300 MHz);
- Limits for discontinuous interference (clicks).
